Overview
We are seeking an experienced PCBA Engineer to lead the design and development of printed circuit board assemblies from system requirements through board-level implementation and manufacturing NPI.
This role requires strong expertise in microcontroller-based hardware design, cross-functional collaboration, and compliance within regulated product development environments.
Responsibilities
* Develop electronic system and hardware architectures from product requirements down to PCBA board-level design.
* Design PCBAs incorporating microprocessors and microcontrollers, including component selection, schematic design, layout guidance, and design optimization.
* Lead board bring-up, prototype validation, debugging, and transition to manufacturing during New Product Introduction (NPI).
* Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams including mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing, and quality.
* Create and maintain complete engineering documentation, including design specifications, test protocols, verification reports, and compliance documentation.
* Ensure designs meet regulatory, quality, and safety requirements in a controlled development environment.
* Lead and participate in electrical engineering design reviews, providing technical guidance and risk assessment.
* Identify, analyze, and resolve EMI, EMC, and ESD issues through design improvements and validation testing.
* Support manufacturing with DFM/DFA considerations, yield improvement, and issue resolution.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
* 10+ years of hands-on experience in electrical/electronic hardware and PCBA design.
* Proficiency in OrCAD and other CAD/EDA design tools.
* Strong experience in microcontroller-based hardware design.
* Hands-on expertise with hardware test and debug tools, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.
* Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving EMI/EMC/ESD-related issues.
* Experience supporting manufacturing NPI, including prototype build, validation, and production ramp-up.
* Familiarity with Life Sciences or Medical Device safety standards, such as IEC 61010, is a plus.
* Knowledge of risk management practices in regulated product development.
* Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven industries.
