Role Overview
The post holder will work within a practitioner‑led unit, supporting the triage and care of patients presenting with minor injuries and illnesses. The MIiU operates 7 days a week from 08:00 to 20:00, and the role includes a full range of shifts. The unit sees 50–65 patients daily and offers training, preceptorship, and development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Triage patients using Manchester Triage
* Monitor and maintain safety of patients awaiting assessment
* Deliver evidence‑based care alongside Emergency Practitioners
* Participate in service development and training programmes
* Work flexibly across shifts, including weekends
Required Skills and Experience
* UK professional registration
* Acute or urgent care experience
* Previous post‑registration experience in ED, MIiU, or urgent care
* Familiarity with Patient Group Directions (PGDs)
* Evidence of professional development
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Alignment with Trust values
* Experience in MIiU or ED settings
* Teaching and assessing qualification
