As such we have an excellent opportunity for anIntermediate Quantity Surveyorto join our highly experienced Quantity Surveying team in our multi-disciplined Haywards Heath office, to support the delivery of technical services to new and existing clients, primarily within the Public Sector.
This will give you the chance to work within an experienced team of surveying professionals and provide a full range of services on a number of construction projects. As part of this team, you will be responsible for a number of duties (with support where required), including:
* Provide professional and technical support to other members of the QS team.
* Prepare feasibility studies, preliminary estimates and cost plans appropriate to the RIBA stage of a project, and in accordance with NRM2.
* Assist in preparation of Bills of Quantities.
* Prepare tender documentation to deadlines.
* Undertake preliminary analysis of tenders, prepare cost breakdowns and initial cost profile under supervision and negotiate contract sums.
* Prepare Contract Documents.
* Control post contract procedures, make valuations for payments, produce financial reports and monitor actual and anticipated expenditure against profile.
* Prepare final accounts and agree with contractor, including verifying claims and dealing with audit procedures.
* Ensure work is delivered in a timely manner in accordance with the requirements of the project programme.
* Carry out other duties commensurate with your grade as directed by your line manager.
Our Successful Candidate:Whilst it would be ideal for you to have proven experience within all areas of surveying, we would be keen to offer personal developments opportunities and assistance towards industry qualifications for the right individual. As such, we are looking for as much of the following knowledge and experience:
* Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (HND, Bachelors Degree, or equivalent))
* Minimum 3 years relevant experience
* Be working or prepared to work towards RICS Chartered status.
* Have working knowledge of JCT contracts.
* Hold a current site card or is prepared to attain.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business
* Excellent numeracy and analytical skills.
* Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos.
* Full UK Driving Licence to meet travelling requirements for the role
