Job summary
The internship proposed is at the heart of the Credit Trading Product Line. Based in the Capital markets trading room London working as part of the Credit business (Secondary and Primary Business) which is run round the clock 5 days a week, time zones from Hong Kong to New York.
1. Following the overall business targets and objectives, the Credit Trading Business Manager intern will assist the Credit Trading Business manager with his key day to day responsibilities around:
2. the implementation and monitoring of the Product Line strategy
3. the monitoring of the Product Line IT projects
4. the first line of defence to ensure the activity complies with external and internal rules
5. the implementation of procedures and best practices
6. the production of reporting for trading and sales manage
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist the Global Credit Business Manager in the following tasks.
1) Assist the Credit Trading Business Manager in day-to-day queries from various Businesses and Functions across the whole chain (IT, MO, BO, Compliance, Risk, Finance, etc.) including the Credit chain stakeholders (DCM, Syndicate and Sales mainly)
2) Perform daily/weekly Credit P&L production and related commercial analyses for the Credit Trading Management
7. Collect P&L data for the day, challenge the data sources and chase inconsistencies, and produce the official Front Office Global P&L on Credit Trading
8. Diligently analysis cost on a daily basis and challenge any unknown charge
9. Produce P&L by trader
10. Perform ad hoc analysis on results, commercial margins, etc. through Business Objects and existing reports
3) Respond to enquiries of GMD Operational Risk, RPC Permanent Control and Audit
11. Conduct investigations on trades with negative mark-ups in collaboration with GMD Permanent Control team
12. Conduct investigations and checks following up on Audit open recommendations
4) Help in reviewing, updating, maintaining and implementing Policies and Procedures of Credit Trading
13. Ensure the Credit rules and procedures are in line with new Credit markets best practices.
14. Assisting with any remediation action on existing Credit practices to comply with the intent of Credit Policies & Procedures.
15. Help circulate the new regulatory culture to Credit Trading staff.
5) Enhancement of our set-up and processes
16. Automation and enhancements of spreadsheet and other processes or documents used in our day-to-day or for regular need
6) Various extractions and presentations for different Credit stakeholders
17. Ad hoc special analyses, business plans, governance presentations
18. Data extractions from different trading / FO platforms
19. Prepare documents for meetings and committees (Country review, Credit Chain, etc.)
7) Assist the Credit Trading Business Manager and Global Head of Credit Trading in on-going projects
20. Take part in the implementation and achievement of key projects for the desk such as pre-trade control or new activity processes
