We are looking to enhance our team at St Aidans Day Nursery. We require a qualified level 3 or above nursery nurse to join our existing team of qualified practitioners. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children in the early years primarily 0-5 years, supporting their needs in the most effective way and someone who is able to deliver outstanding care across all rooms within the setting.Purpose of post:* To contribute and maintain a high standard of emotional, social, physical and intellectual care for children attending the setting.* To work within a team, providing effective support where necessary, with other members of staff within the nursery.* To implement and follow daily routines that are sustained within each room; i.e. the baby room, toddler room or pre-school.* To ensure that the settings policies and procedures are adhered to and followed.* You will be required to work various hours and you must be available to work Monday-Friday from 07:30-18:00.Responsible to:* Nursery Manager* Deputy Manager* Senior Nursery Nurse / Room leaderDuties and Responsibilities:* To contribute to a program of activities that are individually designed for the children within the room you may be based, in conjunction with other staff. These activities are both age and ability appropriate and are in line with the current EYFS.* To establish and maintain a high-quality record of achievements on your key children for parents/carers; via our online system babys days.* To develop your own understanding of the current legislation and curriculum within the Early Years Sector.* To liaise with and support parents/carers with the transition children make between home life and nursery.* To ensure that each child is collected by someone known to the nursery, ensuring that the collection and leaving policy and procedure is adhered to; to maintain the high standards of child safety.* To record accidents and incidents in the correct procedure, ensuring that the report is signed for on collection. Medication must be recorded on babysdays using the correct procedure also, ensuring signed consent is given by parents before administration.* To ensure that confidentiality is of the up most of importance as stated within the confidentiality policy.* To liaise and work alongside the manager and team to ensure that the high standards of our nursery are upheld at all times.* To develop your role within the nursery, especially as a key person.* To be aware of your role in the safeguarding procedures regarding children.* To maintain the provision of high quality care in an enabling environment that meets the needs of individual children from differing cultures, religious background and stages of development.* To be flexible within the working needs of the nursery; including undertaking domestic jobs such as the preparation of snack times, cleaning toys and equipment used within the setting.* To uphold positive relationships with staff to maintain a friendly, happy atmosphere.* To uphold a partnership with parents/carers to ensure they are involved with their child’s learning and development.* To be fully committed to ongoing professional development and training when necessary.* To participate in activities outside of working hours which may include training for personal development, setting development, monthly staff meetings, parents evenings, children’s outing and fundraising events etc.…Applicants must hold the qualification of a Level 3 or above in childcare. Paediatric First Aid, however we can provide support in organising training if necessary.
