Job Title: Support Worker
Whitehaven Community Trust has a fantastic part-time job opportunity available for a Support Worker. We are assisting them in finding the perfect candidate.
The trust is committed to ensuring young people in times of crisis are safe and supported. With their hardworking support staff guiding and building them up, they strive to promote independent living and confidence.
If you are motivated, organised, confident, have emotional resilience, and can use a computer, then this could be the perfect job for you. The role involves working 16 hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays. Shift patterns are from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Your responsibilities will include providing advice, information, and support services to single homeless young women and men aged 18 to 28 years.
Training and support will be provided to help you settle into your new role. You will gain significant job satisfaction while making a real difference in people's lives.
Responsibilities
1. Liaise with service users and book appointments.
2. Support service users with registering and bidding on Choice Based Lettings and signposting to relevant services.
3. Assist service users with benefits, funds, debt solutions, and budgeting.
4. Support service users with direct payments to WCT for service charges and rent payments.
5. Ensure communal areas within projects are clean, hoovered, and tidied when needed.
6. Prepare rooms/properties for new move-ins.
7. Maintain safety and security within the project.
8. Liaise with outside organisations and security agencies to support service users.
9. Collect food supplies.
10. Attend team meetings.
11. Send daily shift reports detailing tasks achieved to management.
