An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Clinical Educator – Theatres within the peri-operative environment in NHS Tayside. The base for this post is Ninewells Hospital but there will also be travel across Nnewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary.
We are seeking a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) who can make a meaningful contribution to supporting excellence in clinical practice. The Education Facilitator will play an integral role in the management and delivery of education and staff development.
We are looking for an experienced, person‑centred professional committed to teaching and who has extensive theatre experience.
Applicants may already possess a postgraduate qualification in teaching, or have significant equivalent theatre experience. UK NMC recordable Lecturer/Practice Educator or Teacher qualification is desirable. You should have evidence of significant post‑registration professional practice with substantial experience in the theatres to undertake and fulfil the key areas required for this post.
Applicants must have relevant experience as a Band 5 Registered Nurse / ODP within a peri‑operative environment. Specialist specific knowledge acquired through post‑graduate certificate or university modules or the equivalent level of knowledge and experience (e.g. Education for Practice MSc Module) is essential; progressing towards a Masters Qualification is desirable. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
You must be registered on Sub‑part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub‑part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC register or equivalent HCPC Operating Department Practitioner.
Hours of work: 37 hours per week.
