About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Key Account Manager to strengthen and grow relationships with major customers across the South of England. This role focuses on managing existing key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and identifying opportunities to expand business within strategic partnerships.
This position is with a leading manufacturer within the industrial automation sector, offering cutting-edge products, innovative solutions, and a strong reputation for quality.
We are particularly interested in individuals from an industrial automation background, who can combine technical understanding with strong commercial skills. You will serve as the main point of contact for key customers, ensuring they receive tailored solutions, technical support, and ongoing value from our products and services.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customer accounts.

Act as the primary point of contact for major clients, managing enquiries, projects, and ongoing support.

Understand customer requirements in detail, providing technical consultation and tailored solutions.

Collaborate with internal engineering, sales, and service teams to deliver comprehensive support packages.

Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and work strategically to expand business.
*
Ensure accurate and up-to-date account information is maintained in CRM systems.

Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer visits to strengthen account relationships.
Candidate Profile
*
Education: Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
*
Experience: 0–10 years in account management, technical sales, or business development, ideally within industrial automation or related sectors.
*
Skills: Strong relationship management skills with the ability to understand customer needs and deliver solutions; knowledge of vacuum technology is advantageous.

Attributes: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proactive, customer-focused, and commercially driven.

Location: Based within 100 miles of Reading, with flexibility to travel across the South of England.
