About the Role
Deputy Manager / Deputy SENCO / Designated Safeguarding Officer
Location: Bolton Children's Opportunity Group, Lowndes St, Bolton, BL1 4QB
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Rate of pay: £15.18 per hour
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Deputy Manager to join our nursery leadership team, with additional responsibilities as Deputy SENCO and Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO).
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced childcare professional to support the Nursery Manager in leading our dedicated team, ensuring outstanding provision for every child, with a strong focus on safeguarding and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
Deputy Manager:
* Support the Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery.
* Lead staff to deliver high-quality childcare in line with the EYFS framework.
* Ensure the nursery meets Ofsted and statutory requirements.
* Model excellent practice and inspire others to do the same.
Deputy SENCO:
* Work alongside the SENCO to identify and support children with additional needs.
* Contribute to individual support plans and the EHCP process.
* Complete Early Helps with the children's parents
* Build strong relationships with parents and external professionals.
* Promote inclusive practice across the nursery.
Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO):
* Act as a first point of contact for safeguarding concerns.
* Ensure staff follow safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Maintain accurate safeguarding records and liaise with external agencies.
* Embed a culture of safeguarding throughout the nursery.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Qualified to at least Level 3 in Childcare (Level 5+ desirable).
Experienced in a nursery leadership role.
Confident with safeguarding and SEND responsibilities.
Organised, approachable, and a strong communicator.
Passionate about child development, inclusion, and high-quality early years practice.
