Breast Consultant Radiographer – Director of Breast Screening
Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity to join our established Breast Imaging team as a Consultant Radiographer in Breast, with the additional responsibility of Director of Breast Screening for the North Lancashire and South Cumbria Breast Screening Service. The service operates Breast Screening and Symptomatic services from dedicated imaging units at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Furness General Hospital and Westmorland General Hospital, and two mobile units in the community. This senior leadership post combines advanced clinical practice with strategic oversight of a high‑performing screening service.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert clinical care across breast screening and symptomatic services, leading a multidisciplinary team.
* Shape and deliver innovative, quality‑focused patient‑centred care.
* Liaise with NHS England and regional Quality Assurance teams, oversee service development and performance.
* Drive continuous improvement of screening outcomes and service delivery.
Qualifications
* Extensive clinical expertise in breast imaging, including screening and symptomatic practice.
* Demonstrated leadership skills and strategic vision.
* A passion for service quality and continuous improvement.
