Overview
Element is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our Built Environment business unit and grow our UK Fire Resistance portfolio. As a focused self-starter, you will lead through example, including direct customer engagement, people leadership, and pipeline management across two UK locations, including our new Fire Resistance Test Facility in Warrington.
Responsibilities
1. Take ownership of the Fire Resistance opportunity pipeline, create and execute sales campaigns, and develop new opportunities to increase Element's market share.
2. Drive excellence in all sales processes to ensure excellent customer experience and maximize retention.
3. Lead the UK Fire Resistance Sales Team: motivate and unify team members around a sales strategy, organize activities, evaluate performance, and support development.
4. Collaborate with operational leaders, technical experts, and marketing to identify and implement new lead generation campaigns.
5. Expand business with existing accounts and develop new potential clients.
6. Achieve sales goals by increasing account penetration, conversion, and retention, working closely with operations to maximize capacity.
7. Provide regular, accurate reports on opportunities, capacity, and revenue-driving actions.
8. Promote adoption of Element’s commercial processes, tools, and systems.
Skills / Qualifications
1. Experience in developing new business and increasing market share.
2. Fire Testing experience is advantageous.
3. Leadership and people management skills.
4. Experience with CRM systems.
5. Degree-level education.
6. Understanding of testing procedures (desired but not essential).
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
8. Flexibility to represent the company at various events and projects.
9. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to interface with clients, develop proposals, and travel up to 50%.
