Project Leader – role overview
Mott MacDonald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business combining the design expertise of Mott MacDonald with the contracting experience of JN Bentley to deliver award winning projects. The partnership operates in Northumbrian Water’s Living Water Enterprise, supporting a £3.6bn workload. Northumbrian Water serves about 4.4 million people and the collaboration with MMB and JN Bentley aims to extend to at least 2030, delivering treatment projects across the North East. This role combines elements of traditional Project Management and Design Engineering, offering a path to chartership and cross-discipline development.
What you’ll be doing
* Working as part of a “project triangle” with a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure technical, constructability and commercial considerations are addressed throughout.
* Leading the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning and handover.
* Coordinating the project team including civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists to deliver designs on programme, within budget, and to required quality.
* Undertaking design in own discipline and mentoring less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
* Building positive relationships with the client’s project, operational and technical assurance teams and promoting a “one-team” approach.
* Follow the organisation’s communications and project delivery practices as part of the role.
What you’ll need
* Degree in Engineering.
* Working towards professional qualification.
* A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
