This is a unique opportunity to join the Vision Support Service who are seeking a highly skilled specialist teacher. The candidate must hold the mandatory qualification in teaching children with a vision impairment.
They should have teaching experience across all age phases with the ability to coordinate provision for students who are severely sight impaired in their chosen school.
The role will involve managing a citywide caseload which will include high needs students who need a team around the child approach to provision.
You will have responsibility for educational provision for severely sight impaired children on your caseload and coordinate the team around the child to ensure that the child is fully included and able to access the curriculum. This will involve close liaison with mainstream subject specialists, working with specialist teaching assistants and delivering timely interventions to teach the specialist curriculum to enhance their access and ability to become independent learners.
