Part-Time School Caretaker - Dartford
Location: DartfordHours: Monday to Friday, Afternoons (20 hours per week)Pay: £15+ per hour
Academics are currently recruiting for a School Caretaker to join a welcoming primary school in Dartford. This Caretaker position is a part-time afternoon role, ideal for an experienced Caretaker or someone with previous site, facilities, or maintenance experience looking to work within a school environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Caretaker Role:
* Opening, securing, and maintaining the school site
* Carrying out general caretaker duties, including basic maintenance and minor repairs
* Completing routine health & safety and site inspections
* Setting up rooms and school spaces for after-school clubs and activities
* Ensuring the school grounds remain clean, safe, and well maintained
* Supporting school staff with ad-hoc site-related tasks
* Liaising with contractors and visitors when required
The Ideal Caretaker Will Have:
* Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Facilities Operative, or in a similar role (preferred)
* A practical, reliable, and proactive approach
* Good understanding of health & safety procedures
* Ability to work independently and use initiative
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
