Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Steel Fixer/Nip Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structural ironwork and be proficient in various construction techniques. This role requires physical stamina, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively on-site to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Duties
* Fabricate, assemble, and erect metal structures, including beams, columns, and frameworks.
* Perform welding tasks using various techniques to join metal components securely.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and installing materials.
* Conduct heavy lifting and manoeuvring of materials as required on-site.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and masons, to ensure seamless integration of ironwork into broader construction projects.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Operate lorries for transporting materials when necessary.
* Assist in roofing tasks as required during project execution.
Requirements
* Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry.
* Proficiency in welding techniques and the use of hand and power tools.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
* Familiarity with carpentry practices is advantageous.
* Capability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday.
* Experience in masonry work is a plus but not essential.
* A valid commercial driving licence is preferred for transporting materials on-site.
