Our large food factory is searching for a dedicated and experienced Day-Based Mechanical Engineer to become a vital part of our engineering team. How you will contribute As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for: Executing proactive planned and preventative maintenance to keep our machinery running smoothly. Rapidly diagnosing and resolving mechanical breakdowns, minimizing downtime in a fast-paced environment. Implementing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to find lasting solutions and drive continuous improvement. Ensuring the highest standards of hygienic engineering and adherence to critical food safety protocols. Working safely and diligently, following all LOTO and RAMS procedures. Contributing to our CMMS system, maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities. Applying your expertise in steam systems, welding, and fabrication. Collaborating effectively within a supportive team to achieve shared goals and operational excellence. What you will bring We are seeking a proactive and skilled individual with: A Mechanical NVQ Level 3 or BTEC (or equivalent recognized industrial mechanical qualification). Proven 'time served' experience as an industrial mechanical engineer, ideally within an FMCG or food manufacturing setting. Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail. A commitment to continuous improvement and LEAN methodologies. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. A strong understanding of mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
