Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with the ability to create delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. This role requires a keen understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
* Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during meal preparation and service
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment
* Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
* Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and food safety practices
Skills
* Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and meal preparation within a professional kitchen setting
* Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines
* Previous kitchen experience is essential; restaurant experience is highly desirable
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene in the kitchen
* Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
* Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
