Overview
Assistant Transport Team Manager - Night Shift, Harlow Distribution Centre. 4 on / 4 off shift pattern from 6:00pm to 6:00am. In this role, you’ll support the Transport Team Managers in coordinating all aspects of night-time transport operations, ensuring drivers, schedules, and processes run efficiently to keep the distribution network moving smoothly. Responsibilities
* Support the Transport Team Manager with planning tasks across daily transport activity.
* Manage and monitor driver dispatch in line with the Transport Daily Plan.
* Conduct driver debriefs, ensuring accurate feedback and reporting.
* Analyse driver hours and ensure accurate journey time recording.
* Complete the Driver Delivery Schedule daily, recording journey hours, duty hours, fuel usage, and trunk information.
* Manage people processes including return-to-work interviews and workplace investigations, in line with company procedures.
* Provide reliable cover for the Transport Team Manager during periods of absence, including annual leave.
Qualifications & Skills
* Previous experience within a transport or logistics environment is advantageous.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
* Motivated and proactive with a positive approach to problem-solving.
* IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
