We are working with a leading International law firm who are looking for a Senior Conflicts Counsel to join their Risk and Compliance team in Sheffield.
Reporting directly to the Head of Conflicts, the Senior conflicts counsel will be a trusted advisor for complex conflicts queries across the firm's international offices.
Role responsibilities:
* Working alongside the firm's new business intake team to ensure compliance with the firm’s conflicts policies and processes across all international offices, including the application of US conflicts rules
* Providing technical conflicts advice to senior lawyers and partners on complex conflicts queries, including advising the information barriers team
* Supporting the conflicts team with escalations and overseeing high risk conflict checks
* Understand and identify wider risk and reputational business intake criteria
* Working closely with the conflicts team to review existing processes and implement enhancements
* Leading on internal investigations relating to conflicts
* Advising the Professional Claims team on potential own interest conflicts
* Reviewing and advising on conflicts provisions in bespoke client terms
* Influencing the design and optimisation of conflicts and information barrier management technology.
Role requirements:
* A Senior Qualified lawyer in England & Wales with 5+ years' experience advising on conflicts matters within a law firm
* A team player, with excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work autonomously and meet strict deadlines
* Experience advising on International and US conflicts rules highly-desirable
