Our local government clients are seeking a Social Worker - Standard (Children's) to manage plans and coordinate services as a child protection social worker. Your role will be crucial, working within statutory frameworks and ensuring the safety and well-being of children. Experience within frontline child protection is necessary.

Your key responsibilities will include:

To ensure customers receive the right help at the right time, addressing their needs for choice, early intervention, prevention, information, and advice, and helping them take advantage of opportunities and make informed decisions regarding their support. This will include devising appropriate well-being and support plans. The use and Understanding of Advocacy will be key to this role.

Qualification – Essential

GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

A recognised degree in Social Work, DipSW or CQSW.

Social Work England registered.

Advanced Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media and CRM.

At the Shortlisting Stage, we will evaluate candidates based on the following qualifications and Experience Requirements. These criteria are essential for the successful execution of the Senior Practitioner role.

Knowledge and Understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors and risk and protection factors

Knowledge and Understanding of childcare legislation and statutory guidance, including the London Child Protection Procedures and the Children Acts 1989 and 2004

Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of social workers and key partner agencies, education, health and the police.

Knowledge and awareness of the issues relating to communities from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and Equal Opportunities.

Knowledge of issues facing disabled children and their families in terms of support needs, education, health and protection problems.

Working with children and their families, including direct work with children.

Carrying out assessments and constructing plans in conjunction with children, their families and other professionals.

Experience in recognising and responding to emerging needs or risk.

Working in a diverse environment.

Able to build effective relationships with children and their families.

Able to communicate clearly and sensitively with children of different ages and abilities and their families.

Able to identify and address concerning adult behaviours to ensure that children are protected.

Able to reflect on and critically analyse information to set out the best options for children.

Able to identify, monitor and review support services and to ensure services make a positive change to children's circumstances/achieve the best value.

Able to keep accurate case records and write complex reports for the Court and conferences/reviews.

Able to organise and manage own workload and complete tasks by required deadlines.

Must be able to work in the office, 3 days a week
