Description We are seeking a motivated Junior Health and Safety Engineer to join our EDF Project Controls Resource Framework, working directly under the guidance of the on-site Health, Safety and Quality Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in health and safety practices within a highly regulated environment, supporting the delivery of work on one of EDF’s operational Nuclear Power Stations. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in applying safety standards, procedures and best practices, while contributing towards the team’s mission of ensuring a safe and compliant workplace. This position is ideally suited to someone eager to build their career in health and safety, with full support and structured development provided. Please note potential candidates for this role must be able to obtain and retain CTC (Counter Terrorist Check) level security clearance to be considered for this position. (Minimum 3 years residence in UK). Responsibilities Assist in the development, implementation, and review of health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments. Support in carrying out workplace inspections, audits, and safety tours to identify hazards and ensure compliance. Help monitor accident, incident, and near-miss reports, and contribute to investigations and corrective action plans. Provide advice and support to staff and contractors regarding safe working practices. Assist with maintaining health and safety records and preparing reports for management. Participate in training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns. Keep up to date with changes in health and safety legislation and best practice. Support senior advisors and managers in promoting a strong safety culture throughout the site. Qualifications Working knowledge of health and safety principles, legislation, and regulations (training will be provided as required). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage staff at all levels. Attention to detail with good report-writing and record-keeping skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
