About the Role:
We are seeking a committed, experienced, and motivated Supervising Senior Caseworker to join our specialist Immigration and Legal Aid team. This senior position involves managing complex immigration caseloads, supervising a team of lawyers and caseworkers, and ensuring high-quality legal services.
You will report directly to the Department Director and play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous learning, compliance, and compassion, aligned with our firm’s values.

BPA Immigration Lawyers is dedicated to ensuring access to justice for vulnerable individuals navigating the UK immigration system. Our growing firm has launched a Legal Aid department focused on delivering compassionate and expert legal advice and representation.
As a Senior Caseworker with IAAS Supervisor status, you will help shape our Legal Aid services, supervise staff, manage legal risks, and contribute to positive client outcomes within a collaborative team environment.
Main Responsibilities of the Role:
* Provide technical leadership and manage caseworkers, trainees, and solicitors.
* Handle a portfolio of Legal Aid and private immigration cases, including asylum, human rights, detention, trafficking victims, entry clearance appeals, judicial reviews, and tribunal cases.
* Oversee case allocation and capacity planning.
* Prepare and manage Legal Aid funding applications and documentation.
* Draft legal documents such as witness statements and representations.
* Attend conferences, hearings, and court proceedings as needed.
* Deliver internal training and ensure legal quality standards are maintained.
* Support business development, networking, and marketing efforts.
Key Skills Required:
* Practicing Certificate (valid) and IAAS Level 2 Senior Caseworker accreditation.
* Supervisory experience managing caseworker performance and KPIs.
* Strong knowledge of immigration, asylum, detention, and public law.
* Understanding of Legal Aid funding, billing, and compliance.
* Excellent client care skills, especially with vulnerable clients.
* Leadership style that is collaborative and proactive, with mentoring experience.
* Advocacy experience is advantageous.
* Proficiency with IT and case management systems.
* Experience with advocacy in immigration tribunals.
* Experience in private client immigration or adoption matters.
* Knowledge of internal audit, capacity reporting, and team performance monitoring.
