Description of Job

The Encounter Project's vision is to see nine new inter-generational worshipping communities established across the city. Each one reflecting the unique flavour of its local community.

The Transition and Social Media Enabler will initiate and lead a ‘Children and Youth Transitions Outreach’ programme, connected with New Worshipping Communities (NWCs) in the Encounter project, in collaboration with local parishes and schools and the Resource Church at All Saints Hanley, supporting all the Encounter satellites in using social media as a tool for mission and discipleship.

They will oversee a part of the children and youth work, both in schools and NWCs, that focuses on the transitional years between primary and secondary education enabling the young people to continue their faith journey.

This role will fit within the structure of New Worshipping Communities focusing on:

* Journeying with young people as they make the move from primary to secondary education
* Continuing to bridge the gap between the young people and the NWCs
* Creating opportunities for discipleship with the young people both within and outside of the NWC
* Grow Young Leaders within the education and NWC settings
* Ensure that the voice of the young people is heard within the NWC
* Develop and support new volunteer leaders and teams
* Support the NWCs in effectively using social media as a tool for discipleship and mission.

Stoke-on-Trent, Stoke-on-Trent, England, United Kingdom

The Encounter Project was born out of a desire to bring God’s best to Stoke-on-Trent.

Our vision is to see nine new inter-generational worshipping communities established across the city. Each one reflecting the unique flavour of its local community.

Encounter brings together local churches and schools to love and serve communities. We create safe, welcoming spaces where everyone can feel that they belong. Opportunities are provided to spend time together, learn new things and explore the difference faith can make whilst working together to bless our local area.

As we draw together churches, schools and local communities through Encounter Stoke, we want to build hope for people across the city. And we want to be communities that are growing in love for each other and the people around us, working together to tell people about the love of Jesus.
