The Springfields Academy, Reach South Academy Trust, is seeking to appoint 7 experienced Autism Support Workers to join the school in September 2025.

Location: The Springfields Academy (North Site), Curzon Street, Caine, SN11 ODS
FTE Salary Range: Grade F, Pt 9 – 11 £26,409- £27,711 per annum pro-rata
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-time, term time only (39 weeks a year)
Contract Hours: Up to 31.25 hours per week; Monday to Friday
About the role
We are looking for an Autism Support Worker (ASW) to work alongside teachers to deliver a personalised, autism-friendly academic and social skills curriculum, as well as support families in implementing functional skills at our Calne site.
Springfields is a vibrant and caring community that engages pupils and fosters positive attitudes to learning. Our autism approach is personalised to meet each pupil's needs, all of whom have an education, health, and care plan.
About the successful candidate
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate and compassionate individual to lead interventions and support our learners with autism.
Key skills:
* Good knowledge and understanding of autism and social communication needs, with appropriate strategies such as TEACCH
* Understanding of social, emotional & mental health needs and cognitive development
* Excellent listening skills
* Ability to build strong, trusting relationships
* Resilience and responsibility in managing learning activities
* Promotion of inclusive learning and social activities
* Use of positive and personalised anxiety management strategies
About the School
The Springfields Academy caters to 250 pupils aged 4-19 with autism and/or speech, language, and communication needs. The school has grown significantly and provides high-quality, research-based education tailored to individual needs. Our goal is to build safe, independent lives through support, understanding, and enablement, personalising curricula, care, and therapeutic packages to ensure success and independence for each child.
