Our client is a well-established retail packaging manufacturer, employing over 100 personnel in the design, administration, and manufacturing departments.
The IT Technician will be a subsidiary of the wider group our client is part of and will be integrated into the Group's IT Department. The role primarily focuses on systems but also involves functional analysis and small software developments.

Responsibilities:
1. Administer and maintain the company's IT systems, ensuring their availability and security.
2. Prevent, detect, and resolve system malfunctions.
3. Perform backups of all servers using Veeam Backup.
4. Install, configure, and maintain servers and virtualized systems in a VMware environment.
5. Implement and manage software and hardware updates across various systems and devices.
6. Administer Windows Server, including Active Directory management, GPO administration, and configuration of file servers, DNS, DHCP, and network services.
7. Monitor and troubleshoot Windows environments.
8. Manage and ensure proper operation of Fortinet firewalls and Aruba switches.
9. Administer Microsoft Exchange and Azure environments.
10. Manage Linux systems, including maintenance, security, and configuration.
11. Identify, document, and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
12. Develop and maintain small internal software applications.
13. Provide user support across different systems, including application assistance and troubleshooting.
14. Manage and request necessary IT equipment for the subsidiary's IT system.
15. Manage third-party IT vendors, including communication and development management to meet business needs.
16. Monitor performance against SLAs and implement necessary actions.
17. Liaise with Business Management to identify process improvements using technology.
18. Assign and manage access to files and applications based on security levels.
Skills and Attributes:
* Experience with VMware, Veeam Backup, and Windows Server administration.
* Knowledge of Fortinet firewalls and Aruba switches.
* Administration of Microsoft Exchange and Azure environments.
* Knowledge of Linux systems.
* Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
* Capability to develop and maintain small internal applications.
* Experience in the packaging sector is desirable.
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Proactive, high integrity, accountable, and flexible.
* Experience with ERP Shuttleworth and SAGE.
* Knowledge of SAP R/3 and/or ESKO software is desirable.
* Experience with iQuote (ePS) software is desirable.
* Familiarity with project management methodologies and technical documentation is desirable.
