Treatment Room Team Leader

Are you an experienced healthcare professional with a passion for service improvement and clinical leadership? We’re seeking a dedicated individual to take on the role of Treatment Room Team Leader across Halton. Key responsibilities

* Assist with the overall management and delivery of Treatment Room services across Halton, supporting the Treatment Room Co‑ordinator.
* Lead the standardisation and continuous improvement of leg ulcer care in the area.
* Provide clinical support by managing delegated patients within the Treatment Room setting.
* Take responsibility for the supervision and development of the Treatment Room Nurse.
* Ensure that the training and development needs of all Treatment Room staff are met, including the implementation of Personal Development Plans (PDPs).
* Lead on data collection for audits and quality improvement initiatives.
* Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs, ensuring high standards are maintained.
* Work collaboratively with the District Nurse Coordinator, District Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective information sharing and continuity of care, including review of complex care packages.
* Provide mentoring, teaching, and assessment for staff within the service.
* Liaise with all relevant healthcare professionals and agencies to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

Further responsibilities

* Promote the health and wellbeing within the family unit and community.
* Perform comprehensive assessment of patient nursing needs as the named nurse.
* Plan, assess, and evaluate programmes of care according to changing health needs under the direction of the wound care specialist nurse.
* Maintain accurate records in accordance with NMC standards.
* Communicate and collaborate with other members of the PHCT, voluntary and statutory organisations to support individual patient care.
* Ensure effective communication with patients, relatives, and carers in complex and potentially challenging situations.
* Perform clinical skills related to the post and be professionally responsible for a delegated caseload.
* Assess health needs at individual, practice and community level.
* Work without direct supervision.
* Access support from the District Nurse Coordinator.
* Manage the Treatment Room rota/phlebotomy rota across Warrington.
* Manage the training needs and competencies of the Treatment Room staff/phlebotomy staff.
* Manage sickness and absence of the Treatment Room staff/phlebotomy staff.
* Support clinical supervision within the team.
* Maintain a professional portfolio that demonstrates evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Ensure practice is evidence‑based through audit and critical appraisal of literature.
* Maintain clinical standards through reflective practice and clinical supervision.
* Adhere to NMC Standards: Professional Code of Conduct, Scope of Professional Practice, Administration of Medicines, Records and Record‑keeping.
* Identify any limitations or gaps in professional or clinical knowledge.
* Contribute to development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines relevant to own area of work.
* Promote equality, diversity and rights.
* Act as a practice assessor for pre‑registration nursing students.
* Act as a mentor for new treatment room staff and support teaching and assessment of junior members.
* Undertake mandatory in‑house training and other training that supports the role.
* Provide teaching to patients, carers and other professionals to support optimum independence.
* Participate in the PDP process.
* Adhere to all Trust policies.
* Report sickness and other absences to the identified administrator.
* Provide accurate, timely information to the administrator regarding annual leave, expenses and study leave.
* Supply required activity data related to patient care.
* Adhere to the lone worker policy.


Person specification


Skills and knowledge

* Effectively manage wounds and leg ulcers (including compression bandaging and Doppler).
* Good record‑keeping standards.
* Knowledge of current national policies affecting the NHS.
* Knowledge of relevant NHS legislation.
* Knowledge of audit and research.
* Effective time‑keeping.
* Show initiative and work autonomously.
* Tissue viability qualification.
* Ear care training.


Job specific requirements

* Ability to travel independently across the Trust.
* Ability to work flexibly in accordance with service needs.


Sponsorship

* Confirm Right to Work status (share‑codes will be checked where applicable).


Experience

* Post‑registration experience in a treatment Room setting.
* Leadership training.
* Previous managerial experience.


Qualifications

* Registered Nurse (Adult).
* NMC Registered.
* Tissue Viability Qualification.
* V150 or V300 Prescribing Qualification.
* Teaching & Assessing qualification.


Relationships

* Disclose any relationship with a director or employee of an appointing organisation.
