<div><h3>Residential Deputy Manager</h3><p>As a residential Deputy Manager at Oldham Local Authority, you will support the Registered Manager in leading a diverse team and delivering high quality care for children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).</p><p>Salary: £39,152 – £42,839 per annum (Grade 7); Hours: 36.66 per week.</p><p>Contract: Permanent</p><p>Email: andrea.worthington@oldham.gov.uk</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and understand OFSTED requirements.</li><li>Assist the Registered Manager in managing and supervising residential care staff, fostering continuous improvement.</li><li>Develop, implement and monitor individual care plans for children, ensuring physical, emotional and developmental needs are met.</li><li>Maintain adherence to best practice guidelines and keep the home compliant with all regulations.</li><li>Provide guidance, mentoring and support to the care team to enhance their skills and professional development.</li><li>Effectively manage crisis situations or incidents, ensuring safety for children and staff.</li><li>Collaborate with external agencies, schools, healthcare providers and families to deliver holistic care.</li><li>Oversee administrative duties, including rostering, budgeting and accurate record-keeping.</li></ul><h3>Key Requirements</h3><ul><li>Experience delivering life skills and/or participation programmes to young people in a youth work, social care or health setting.</li><li>Minimum 2 years of experience working with children and young people.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.</li><li>NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent; Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care is desirable.</li><li>Previous supervisory or management experience in a residential care setting is preferred.</li><li>Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure.</li><li>In‑depth understanding of EBD and familiarity with relevant legislation and standards.</li><li>Current enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Annual leave: 25 days, with option to purchase additional days and increases after 5 and 10 years of service.</li><li>Defined benefit pension scheme with an attractive AVC option.</li><li>Discounted gym membership and staff discount scheme covering shopping, entertainment, travel and more.</li><li>Salary sacrifice scheme including Cycle to Work.</li><li>Wellbeing support including an Employment Assistance Programme with 24‑hour access.</li><li>Staff recognition events and peer support groups.</li><li>Comprehensive learning and development programme with CPD support.</li><li>Clear progression pathways.</li></ul></div>
