Commercial Manager - Construction Sector - Northamptonshire - £45,000 - £52,000 per annum
A leading organisation based in Central Northampton are looking to add to their commercial and construction project team on a permanent basis. The role will partner Project Directors and other key stakeholders to deliver insights, finance reviews, compliance and management across the organisation.
The Commercial Manager will have responsibility for:
Contract Management & Risk
* Selecting the correct contract type (e.g., JCT, NEC, Schedule of Rates) in collaboration with Procurement to appropriately allocate risk between the client and the external supplier
* Providing ongoing commercial and contractual support to the repairs team
* Tightly managing subcontract commercial control according to the contract, commercial arrangements, and schedules of rates
Financial Control & Reporting
* Assessing and certifying monthly payment applications from contractors
* Managing the settlement of final accounts and releasing retention monies after the Defects Liability Period
* Producing monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports for individual projects
* Monitoring and reporting on performance
* Analysing cost per job, labour productivity, and material usage to find variances and drive efficiencies
Compliance & Development
* Maintaining a good understanding of CDM and health and safety regulations
* Adhering to all applicable rules, regulations, legislation, policies, and procedures
* Supporting the implementation of a balanced scorecard for transparent reporting
* Being responsible for continuing self-development and CPD
To be considered for the position of Commercial Manager applicants must:
* Be educated to BTEC, HND or equivalenbt within a quantity surveying or construction management discipline
* Have experience and good understanding of CDM and health and safety regulations
* Have sound knowledge of contracts management and contracts
* Be a proven Commercial Manager experience and a successful track record in a similar role
* Have worked within housebuilding, facilities management or public sector
