Cattery Assistant (Blackberry Farm Animal Centre, Aylesbury)
Do you have a passion for cats? Are you calm, patient, and understanding?
Many cats in our care have never experienced life in a loving home. While they wait for someone special to give them a second chance at a forever home, they receive love, care, and attention from staff and volunteers at our animal centres.
Our cattery assistants play a vital role in caring for these cats until they are rehomed. Responsibilities include cleaning the cattery, updating records, raising concerns with staff, grooming, playing, and helping cats develop social skills for successful rehoming.
You’ll work as part of a team and have some experience and knowledge of cat behaviour; full training will be provided. Physical strength is needed to handle cats, and training will be given for this as well.
This role offers the opportunity to make new friends and meet people while caring for cats waiting for their new homes. Whether you have extensive feline experience or are considering getting a cat but cannot currently due to your lifestyle, this could be the perfect role for you. Please note, volunteers must be aged 16 or over to assist at Blackberry Farm. After submitting your application, it may take up to 2 weeks for us to contact you. We are seeking volunteers who can commit to at least once a week.
