About the Role
We’re looking for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join the Butlin’s Buffets Department based in Skegness.
Description
Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will support the running of the kitchen and lead a large team of chefs, stepping up in the Kitchen Manager’s absence.
You will be passionate about delivering an exceptional guest experience, monitoring it regularly, and developing action plans for continuous improvement. You will have strong leadership skills to support and grow your team through daily briefings, stock control, and presentation reviews.
Financial performance will be an important part of your role; you will deliver food cost budgets through effective menu planning and cooking to standards and specifications. You will also be accountable for food hygiene standards, health and safety, and compliance with legislation and company policies.
As a role model for Butlins’ unique way of working, you will ensure training schedules and performance development plans are in place for your team, inspiring them to deliver a great experience to guests every time. The position offers the opportunity to lead and develop the skills of a team in our main buffet restaurant serving guests who have booked a half‑board dining package.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the running of the kitchen and lead a large team of chefs.

* Lead daily briefings, handle stock control, and review food presentation.
* Deliver food cost budgets through menu planning and cooking to standards.
* Accountable for food hygiene standards, health and safety, and legislation compliance.
* Implement training schedules and performance development plans for the team.
* Ensure the Butlins unique way of working is reflected and inspire the team.
* Lead and develop team skills for serving guests in the main buffet restaurant.
Qualifications
* Experience in a similar role with large volume turnaround.
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with good time management and organisational skills.
* Pass Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
* Strong leadership, hardworking, reliable, energetic, enthusiastic, high‑spirited and fun‑loving.
* Ability to build and develop relationships with leaders and the team.
Working Hours
This role covers a 5‑day working week over a 7‑day period, totalling 40 hours and including evenings and weekends. This role does not come with onsite accommodation.
