We have a great opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team within Vistry South East Midlands, at our office in Enderby, Leicestershire. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting the commercial delivery of residential development schemes. Assist the Surveying department with cost management for development and contracting projects from procurement to the completion of sub-contract final accounts.

* A good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations
* A good knowledge of construction methods and materials

More about the Assistant Quantity Surveyor role…
* Attend site pre-start meetings to understand construction issue drawings with the Senior / Quantity Surveyor.
* Assist with compiling tender packages for all sub-contract trades.
* Receive tenders and assist with analyzing sheets for each trade, comparing tender levels.
* Assist with issuing sub-contract orders in accordance with Group Policy and Commercial Best Practice, within budget and programme requirements. Attend pre-order meetings.
* Liaise with Build Department on sub-contractors’ performance and compliance with order conditions.
* Assist with the production of sub-contract orders to meet site programmed build requirements, in accordance with Group Policy and Rebate schemes, fully adjudicating prior to issue.
* Liaise with the Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide forecast and site budget information for reporting.
* Assist with control and reporting of post-contract cost movements, including monthly reporting to the Commercial Manager.
* Ensure invoices/applications for payments are processed per contract terms.
* Immediately notify management of any claims or legal actions from disputes with sub-contractors or service providers.
* Assist in determining sub-contract orders per Standard Terms and liaise with Build Department.
* Manage site project administration using BMS, including orders, variations, and valuations.
* Review materials on-site and conduct material valuations.
* Settle variation invoices and applications for payment per contract terms.
* Assist with certifying retention releases on project completion.
* Help prepare and agree on final accounts with subcontractors.
* Maintain systems for efficient filing and information retrieval.
* Assist with final account schedules.
