Senior Clinical Engineer - Leads biomedical engineering equipment projects through all lifecycle stages. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to identify clinical, technical, and research needs, develops procurement specifications, and manages installation, configuration, testing, training, and documentation. May oversee a team of clinical engineers, BMETs, and team leaders, managing projects independently related to medical devices and systems.
Responsibilities include preparing capital purchase proposals, designing and analyzing studies for new medical equipment, evaluating device safety and efficacy, investigating cost-effectiveness, leading quality improvement activities, developing technology management strategies, and investigating clinical incidents for hazard mitigation. Acts as a technical consultant, ensuring staff training, mentoring, and compliance with applicable codes and regulations. Serves on hospital committees, provides on-call support, and guides technical teams.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field, with 5 years of hospital-based engineering project experience, OR
* Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field, with 3 years of relevant experience.
**If qualifying with a Bachelor's degree, must also have:**
* 5 years of engineering laboratory experience with instrumentation and test equipment
* 5 years investigating clinical incidents involving medical devices
* Experience with at least one of the following: bedside medical devices, biomedical equipment management, networking, distributed systems, web applications, risk management, or high-level development software
**If qualifying with a Master's degree, must also have:**
* 3 years of engineering laboratory experience with instrumentation and test equipment
* 3 years investigating clinical incidents involving medical devices
* Experience with at least one of the following: bedside medical devices, biomedical equipment management, networking, distributed systems, web applications, risk management, or high-level development software
