Job Title: Field Service Engineer – Robotics & Mechatronics

As part of their ongoing growth, they are seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to join their UK-based team.
This is a remote position with frequent travel across the UK and Ireland, supporting a wide range of high-tech robotic machinery and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain sophisticated robotic equipment including pick-and-place systems, tray loaders, case erectors, flow-wrappers, sealing machinery, and thermoforming applications.
* Diagnose and repair complex systems involving PLCs, servo drives, PC-based controls, mechanical components, and pneumatics.
* Provide proactive and reactive service support at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance of automation equipment.
* Deliver training to customer operators and maintenance personnel on the proper use and upkeep of equipment.
* Act as a trusted technical advisor by identifying opportunities for improvement, upgrades, or additional solutions, and communicating these to the technical management team.
* Maintain strong, professional relationships with customer contacts to ensure high levels of satisfaction and support.
* Represent the company with professionalism, delivering clear and effective communication in all client interactions.
* Participate in occasional overseas training and support visits, primarily to the company’s headquarters in Germany.
Skills & Experience Required:
* A background in Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field.
* A minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in the service or manufacturing of packaging machinery or automation systems.
* Experience with robotic systems is highly desirable.
* Solid working knowledge of servo drives, PLCs, and PC-based control systems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for technical troubleshooting.
* Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong rapport on-site.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to new challenges and technologies.
* Innovative thinker who enjoys solving complex problems and contributing ideas.
* Full, clean UK driving licence and eligibility to work and travel within the UK and Europe.
