The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join ITS and play a key role in the commercial management of our telecommunications infrastructure projects. This is a hybrid role, preferably working 2-3 days onsite.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded QS who enjoys working across contracts, costs, procurement, project delivery and stakeholder management. You’ll help ensure our telecoms projects are delivered efficiently, commercially and compliantly, balancing value for money with quality, risk management and long-term project success.
You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors and external partners, taking ownership of the financial and contractual elements that keep complex network infrastructure projects moving.
Responsibilities
You’ll be involved across the full commercial life-cycle of telecoms infrastructure projects, including:
* Managing contract administration, commercial agreements and subcontractor terms
* Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contract terms with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
* Preparing cost estimates, budgets, forecasts and cost plans for telecoms projects
* Tracking project spend, monitoring variances and supporting cost-control activity
* Supporting tendering, procurement and bid evaluation processes
* Working with project managers and engineering teams to align commercial activity with delivery milestones
* Identifying contractual risks, changes, claims or disputes and helping resolve them effectively
* Maintaining accurate commercial records, contract documentation and project cost reports
* Producing regular updates on cost performance, risk, contract status and commercial progress
About You
You’re a detail-focused, commercially aware Quantity Surveyor who is confident working in a fast-paced project environment. You understand the importance of strong contract management, accurate forecasting and clear communication and you’re comfortable working with multiple stakeholders to get the right outcome.
You’ll likely bring:
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior QS / Commercial Lead or similar, ideally within telecoms, utilities, construction, civil engineering or infrastructure
* Strong knowledge of contract management, commercial administration and cost control
* Experience with construction or infrastructure contracts such as NEC, FIDIC or similar
* Confidence preparing cost estimates, budgets, forecasts and financial reports
* Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
* The ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders at once
* A degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
Experience in fibre networks, wireless infrastructure, network build, telecoms civils, wayleave-related projects or utility infrastructure would be highly beneficial.
Membership of a professional body such as RICS or CIArb would also be advantageous, but is not essential.
