Pastoral Support Mentor – Secondary School – Tameside

Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £89 – £110 per day
A secondary school in Tameside is seeking a committed Pastoral Support Mentor to join their inclusion and wellbeing team. The successful candidate will work closely with the safeguarding lead, form tutors, and external agencies to ensure vulnerable students are receiving the right support to succeed in school.
Key Duties:
* Mentor a caseload of students with attendance concerns, social/emotional barriers, or behavioural needs
* Run small group sessions on emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and resilience
* Record interventions and contribute to EHCP or safeguarding documentation
* Provide presence and supervision during key times (e.g., before school, break, lunch, end of day)
* Act as a point of contact for families and carers
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in pastoral care, youth work, or safeguarding
* Strong verbal and written communication
* Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional under pressure
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures and confidentiality

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
