Salary: £22,924 per annum

Contract type: Fixed term / Full-time

Location: Bolton ERC, Bury Road, Bolton, BL2 5DH

Lancashire Wildlife Trust is seeking a highly motivated individual to join The West Pennines More Nature Partnership as an Assistant Project Officer.

This role offers a valuable opportunity for a proactive and driven individual to contribute to the development of the project.

The West Pennines More Nature Partnership (WPMNP) is a Landscape Recovery Scheme project focusing on large-scale habitat restoration across the West Pennine Moors SSSI and surrounding areas. Covering over 7,000ha, the project involves habitats such as blanket bog, heathland, woodland, and grassland. WPMNP collaborates closely with landowners, farm tenants, and local communities to restore habitats to favourable conditions, meet national Net Zero targets, increase biodiversity, and improve habitat quality.

The Assistant Project Officer will support various aspects of the project, including Land Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Stakeholder Engagement, Access, and Farm Plans. We seek someone proactive and eager to make a difference in the West Pennines.

The project is currently in a two-year development phase, scheduled until May 2026, during which plans for the subsequent twenty-year implementation phase will be developed. If successful, there may be opportunities for the Assistant Project Officer to be involved in the implementation phase.

This full-time position involves 35 hours per week, with occasional work outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends.

We offer 28 days of holiday plus bank holidays annually, increasing with service length. Our friendly, flexible environment provides the chance to work with the largest nature conservation body in the region, contributing to regional conservation efforts and inspiring community engagement for wildlife.
