Job overview
The Training Programme Director in Orthodontics NHSE will support the Associate Dental Dean in the Strategic Development Orthodontic training within the Dental Section WT&E, NHSE.
The post holder will lead on the development of the recruitment and retention strategy for orthodontic training, The role is to support the training of orthodontic specialiy trainees across the North West Region. The post holder will engage with education and clinical supervisors at placement level, attend IRCP and ARCP panels. Support the National recruitment process by contributing to the interview panels.
Main duties of the job
Work in collaboration with AD for Dental Specialty Trainingto develop and implement a workforce strategy which supports the recruitment and retention of Trainees in Orthodontics.

To provide expert advice on Specialty specific matters to the Scheme.
To support the Head of School to ensure appropriate systems for Assessment, Rotational Management, Trainee Supervision & Support and other functions within the School.
To promote or lead work programme on behalf of the School of Dentistry.
To create and promote shared learning opportunities to increase effective inter-professional working across the School.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Membership or Fellowship of a Medical and Dental Royal College
* Educational Qualification and experience in line with COPDEND Standards for Dental Educators
Experience
* Considerable experience of working with dentists in an educational context
* Experience as an educational supervisor
* Previous or current appointment as a Leader in Healthcare Education
* Experience in Recruitment
* Clinical Manager Experience
* Understanding of Workforce Transformation agenda
Skills
* Demonstrable leadership skills and an ability to influence and motivate others
* A strong sense of vision and ability to innovate
* Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral presentation skills
