Infrastructure Storage Analyst Contract Length: 6 months Rate: £250-£300pd Inside IR35 Location: Mostly remote (Manchester) Manchester office 1 day per month Occasional travel to Coventry or Birmingham (up to 1 day per month, as required) Role Overview We are looking for an Infrastructure Storage Analyst to join an established Platform Engineering team within a large enterprise environment. This role will focus on storage, virtualisation, and infrastructure support, providing hands-on technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents while contributing to continuous service improvement. You will work independently on technical issues, escalating to Senior Engineers when required, and will play an active role in maintaining platform stability, availability, and performance. Key Responsibilities Independently troubleshoot and resolve production service incidents and problems Perform infrastructure tasks including: Patching Storage allocation and redaction Backup configuration Script maintenance Prioritise workload effectively to ensure critical incidents are addressed first Support platform stability and service availability Identify and contribute to process and service improvement opportunities Provide technical guidance and support to peers Create and maintain accurate technical documentation Work within established incident and change management processes Essential Technical Skills (Must Have) Strong VMware experience, including: vSphere vRealize Site Recovery Manager (SRM) Operations Manager Cisco UCS infrastructure (compute, networking, and storage) Storage technologies: vSAN VxRail IBM Storage technologies, including: IBM Flash Systems Replication (Global Mirror, Metro Mirror, Change Volumes) Spectrum Scale : Cluster management Protocols: GPFS, NFS, SMB Active-active topology Strong Linux/Unix command-line experience Experience working with ServiceNow for ticket management Awareness of how infrastructure actions impact availability and resilience Additional / Desirable Experience Exposure to: Oracle and ESXi environments GKLM / SKLM Experience provisioning storage across IBM storage estates Understanding of virtualisation architectures Familiarity with AWS Cloud technologies and server administration Experience working in an Agile delivery environment Financial Services experience (desirable, not essential) What Were Looking For Proven experience in a complex, high-pressure production environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Clear communicator who collaborates well within a team Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement If this matches your skillset and experience, apply today!
