Overview
South Lanarkshire Council requires experienced Heating Engineers to support the delivery of industrial heating works within Building Services. You will have a flexible approach to the day-to-day running of the Industrial Heating Section and assist in servicing, installation and planned maintenance of commercial mechanical and hot water systems across a wide range of non-housing property types including schools, corporate offices and leisure centres. A pre-requisite of this role is possession of current commercial or domestic gas qualifications and willingness to undertake training to complete the additional gas qualification required. The minimum essential qualifications you will be required to work towards or already hold are COCN1, ICPN1, TPCP1 & 1a.
Location: East Kilbride • Hours: 37 hours per week, permanent • Work Pattern: Monday – Thursday 8:00am–4:30pm, Friday 8:00am–1:30pm • Salary: £44,641 – £45,625 per year.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of industrial heating works within Building Services, including servicing, installation and planned maintenance of commercial mechanical and hot water systems across a range of non-housing properties (schools, corporate offices, leisure centres, etc.).
* Be time-served with trade qualifications in your discipline and demonstrate sound technical competencies in identifying and rectifying faults to keep systems operational and compliant.
* Display a sound knowledge of the industrial heating industry, including repair and maintenance of commercial heating systems.
* Demonstrate commitment to customer care with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; work to targets and predetermined timescales with awareness of health and safety in the workplace.
* Possess or be willing to undertake training to complete the required gas qualifications; participate in ongoing professional development.
* Be able to provide evidence of experience and achievements in the five behaviours framework: Efficient, Flexible, Leading, Working with Others and Performing.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Current commercial or domestic gas qualifications; willingness to undertake training to complete the additional gas qualification required by the role.
* Minimum essential qualifications: COCN1, ICPN1, TPCP1 & 1a.
* Experience working in industrial heating, with ability to identify faults and maintain systems in non-housing properties.
* Commitment to health and safety in the workplace and ability to work to targets and deadlines.
