Wayman Education is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and passionate teacher of music to join a creative and vibrant performing arts department at an exceptional secondary school in Steyning. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver inspiring practical and theoretical music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 delivery for an appropriately qualified candidate.

Key responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging music lessons that inspire and challenge students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
* Develop innovative schemes of work that balanced practical performance and composition skills with listening, appraising, and musical theory.
* Assess, track, and report on student progress and attainment in line with exam board specifications, providing constructive feedback to support development.
* Support and contribute to the school's extra-curricular music program, including ensembles, choirs, school productions, and concerts.
* Maintain high expectations for student behavior and achievement, cultivating a safe, inclusive, and collaborative creative environment.
Requirements
* Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS, alongside a degree in music or a closely related discipline.
* Experience: A proven track record of teaching music within a UK secondary school setting (including successful ITT/PGCE placements).
* Skills: Exceptional subject knowledge, confident classroom management, proficiency in performance/instrumental skills, and the ability to inspire students of all abilities and musical backgrounds.
* A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
