Senior Project Manager - Permanent Way / Track
Location: Remote, ideally within the Midlands or Yorkshire regions for travel to site / meeting when required.
Summary
A successful rail infrastructure contractor with over 40 years' experience in delivering a wide and diverse range of track construction projects throughout the United Kingdom is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager / Programme Manager to join their business.
Senior Project Manager Experience
- Substantial proven experience in project /programme management within the rail industry
- Strong understanding of permanent way related works I.e. Re-railing, full or spot re-sleepering, re-ballasting, plain line refurbishment, full renewal (sleeper, ballast, rail etc), switches & crossings refurbishment, level crossing renewal, way beam renewal, and lifting / replacing level crossings.
- Multidisciplinary background desirable ie Signalling / Telecoms
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
- Excellent interpersonal, management and communication skills
- Proven experience in managing and developing teams to achieve high performance
- Knowledge of the rail industry and its regulatory framework
- Membership of a relevant professional body I.e PWI (desirable)
As a Senior Project Manager you will
- Run projects from start to completion
- Be responsible for the delivery of the contracts within programme and budget.
- Liaising with site staff and the commercial team to ensure spend is managed in line with tender allowances.
- The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Ops Director.
- Ensuring work completed to meet contractual requirement.
- Being the main point of contact between Network rail and the business.
