Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, MMC Europe role at Marsh McLennan. Based in London with a hybrid working arrangement requiring at least three days per week in the office. Responsibilities
Provide leadership to MMC Europe Finance, working closely with the CFO to forge direction and delivery. Serve as a trusted counsel to the European CFO, European CEO and Regional CFOs. Report, analyse and explain Marsh & Mercer Europe financial performance. Own the budget process for Marsh & Mercer Europe, identify opportunities and threats, and develop credible plans for profitable growth in line with targets. Lead the forecasting process for MMC Europe with a mix of top-down understanding and client-level analytics. Provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management, including analyses of key projects (acquisitions, hires, IT projects, etc.). Partner with Corporate and Global Finance teams to ensure European performance is well understood. Ensure robust KPIs are available to run the business, coordinating data collection, highlighting trends and analysing variances to budget, forecast and prior year. Present and explain Marsh & Mercer European financial results at management meetings when needed, including in-depth revenue analysis. Prepare sensitive and confidential analyses as directed by the CEOs or CFO. Support key matrix business areas (e.g., Affinity, Advisory, Specialties). Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives. Champion finance transformation and prepare Ex Co presentations, financial presentations, capex analysis, client profitability analyses, and other senior management requests. Supervise Financial Analysts; manage a team of two direct reports. What you need to have
Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification FP&A experience, preferably within financial services (insurance broking or insurer). Experience presenting financial results and forecasts to senior executives, managing budgeting processes and high-level financial analysis; strong written, verbal, presentation and analytical skills. Finance change and transformation experience with strategic capability. Leadership experience and the ability to lead teams. Creative thinking, decisive problem-solving, and high self-motivation. Ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines; hands-on management style. Ability to work independently and in a team with excellent interpersonal skills. Expertise in change and process management and strong organisational skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. What makes you stand out
