Location: Haberdashers Boys School
Rate of pay: £36,000pa
Hours: 40 hours per week
(Predominately Monday - Friday but occasional evenings and weekend work as per business needs)
Weeks: 52 weeks

Haberdashers Boys School is one of the leading Independent schools in the UK with excellent facilities, catering for 1000 covers per day, Cafe and a Grab and Go unit. Haberdashers also caters for hospitality events on top making it a go to venue events all year round. With food at the heart of every pupil's development, we are looking to recruit an organised, experienced, and enthusiastic Sous-Chef who understands large-scale operations and is willing to make their mark.
Job Description
Responsibilities
* To provide food/service to a consistent high standard, including assisting senior chefs with functions in other different areas throughout the business.
* To manage the kitchen brigade in the absence of the Head Chef
* To assist training of junior staff
* To liaise with key people in the team in order to plan for the provision of food in all areas
* To place order directly with suppliers.
* To ensure smooth running of daily operations
* Responsible to manage stock levels of that specific area including stock control and health and safety practices.
* Ensure the presentation of the food is consistent with the standards set by senior chefs.
Qualifications
* Ideally have experience working within Education catering
* Have a progressive career to date
* Be up to date with current food trends
* Have a real passion for food and customer service
* Have good Health & Safety knowledge
* Be able to work within set budgets
* Know how to cost and plan menus accurately
* Be familiar with training and coaching a team
