A warm and community-focused primary school in Borehamwood is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their team for a long-term position starting in January 2026. This role is perfect for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about creating structured, engaging, and inspiring learning experiences for young children.
About the Role
* Lead a vibrant and motivated Year 2 class, supporting students as they progress through Key Stage 1
* Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons to cater to all learning needs
* Provide high-quality teaching in key subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, and SATs preparation
* Foster a positive learning environment by promoting good behaviour and creating a nurturing atmosphere
* Track and assess student progress, using data to inform your planning and offer targeted support
* Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
* Contribute to the wider school community through team collaboration and enrichment activities
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (Year 2 experience is desirable)
* Solid understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment standards
* Excellent organisational, communication, and behaviour management skills
* A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young learners
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
