The Management Accountant will play a key part in shaping financial performance, supporting operational teams, and driving improvements across the business.
The responsibilities of the Management Accountant include but are not limited to:
* Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and Board Pack reporting with commercial insights.
* Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycle, providing meaningful variance analysis with clear, actionable commentary.
* Partner with department heads to monitor overheads, improve operational efficiency, and support supplier negotiations through financial analysis and benchmarking.
* Work closely with the sales team to track performance against targets, develop KPI dashboards, and enhance commercial decision-making.
* Strengthen financial controls, improve reporting processes and systems, and ensure data accuracy and integrity across all financial outputs.
Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes of the Management Accountant:
* Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent), with experience in management accounting within an SME or fast-paced business.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver high-quality, accurate financial information.
* Commercially minded with the confidence to influence and challenge stakeholders across the business.
* Excellent Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability.
* Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a small, fast-paced, hands-on environment.
