Job activity & responsibilities:
1. Production of documented system & solution designs to NEC/SSS Public Safety standards & format.
2. Presentation of designs and supporting rationale to internal and external audiences
3. Maintain and update designs through project changes process
4. Liaison with 3rd party suppliers and customers to discuss and agree architecture components
5. Provide design leadership and oversight across the project team through proactive interaction with all stakeholders
6. The role holder will be required to work professionally in liaison with internal teams such as Sales and Product teams for governance, evaluations and approvals.
7. The role holder would need to accept a car allowance for business travel.
8. The role can involve extensive customer contact on both a technical and non-technical level requiring a professional and adaptable approach to communication, interaction & service.
9. The role involves a high level of autonomous working which expects a high standard of personal time and task management.
10. Complete all activities within set deadlines and report appropriately any difficulties to achieve delivery milestones.
11. Present a professional approach and attitude to all work undertaken.
12. Promote a clean working environment. Adhere to all Health and Safety practices, rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Who are you?
13. Ideally educated to HND/HNC level or relevant industry experience in a comparable role/s.
14. Experience within IT focused server & client-based environments
15. Experienced in producing extensive design documentation
16. Experienced in troubleshooting and problem solving
17. Proven experience administering and working with Microsoft Windows client & server architecture (windows 10 /11, up to Server 2019/2022), primarily using DELL hardware or similar.
18. A good understanding of Microsoft active directory / domain architecture
19. A good understanding and experience of using Microsoft Hyper-V or VmWare
20. Great interpersonal communication and presentation skills
21. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
22. Experience using design and documentation tools MS Visio, also using MS Applications including Excel, Word
23. A very high standard of written communication
24. Experience using MS Business Applications including Excel, Word
25. Excellent customer service skills
26. Proven experience working to ITIL best practices.
Ideally you will have:
27. Degree or higher in a technical based subject
28. Prior experience of developing technical solution designs for IT based systems
29. Proficiency in formal design methodologies such as TOGAF
30. understanding of SIP protocol
31. Scripting experience / Knowledge (Batch, MYSQL, PowerShell)
32. Hyper-V Failover Clustering experience / Knowledge
33. Telephony experience / Knowledge (Cisco UCCE/Avaya Blue/Avaya Red/Mitel/Shortel/Asterix)
34. Knowledge of MySQL/MSSQL (User Admin, Creation of jobs including backups, writing / understanding queries)
35. Proven experience with Microsoft Azure (solution design, deployment or security)
