Our client, is recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its experienced engineering team.
Key Responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer
* Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all production equipment to minimise downtime.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, carrying out repairs effectively.
* Ensure all equipment is maintained in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and industry best practices.
* Identify areas for improvement within the production process and propose solutions to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
* Assist in the implementation of process improvement projects, including machinery upgrades and layout changes.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the engineering team.
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in all engineering activities.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including completed tasks, spare parts used, and any necessary follow-up actions.
* Utilise the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to log all maintenance activities and generate reports as needed.
* Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure engineering support aligns with production goals.
* Provide training and support to junior engineers and apprentices as required.
Qualifications & Requirements - Maintenance Engineer
* NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent; HNC/HND or higher in an engineering discipline is desirable.
* Proven experience as a Multi Skilled Engineer.
* Good understanding of problem solving and modern lean manufacturing techniques.
* Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, from production floor to management and directors.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with a hands-on approach.
* Excellent team player, proactive, inquisitive, and flexible attitude to work.
* Ability to support weekend and bank holiday working when required.
* Motivated, diligent, logical, and analytical.
