An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and well-motivated Supervisory Medical Secretary to join our Mental Health Inpatients and Crisis Team. This post will be based in Bodmin.
The successful candidate will be well organised and able to prioritise work. You will be proactive in solving problems and queries and you will see these through to completion. The post holder will need to be calm and patient, with an excellent telephone manner and skills to deal with sometimes complex and difficult issues over the phone.

Main duties of the job
You will be supporting a multidisciplinary team and will be involved with answering calls to the service, arranging appointments, meetings, minute taking on the ward, audio typing letters and reports, scanning, and uploading documentation onto appropriate systems, photocopying, and some general administrative work as required.
You will be providing supervision and day to day support to the other medical secretaries that support the Mental Health Inpatient wards.
This role will be challenging and varied, but ultimately a rewarding role that will provide an opportunity, for the right person, to become a key member of the team. A high degree of flexibility is required to meet the day-to-day challenges of the service. Excellent time management and communication skills are required as is a good sense of humour.
This is a part-time position, working 22.5 hrs per week working Mondays and Thursdays with the third day to be agreed at interview. This would be a working on site position with possibility to work from home on occasion. There may be occasions to travel to carry out supervisions at our Longreach site in Redruth.

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
* Level 4 Business Administration or equivalent knowledge or experience
* RSA/OCR III Word-Processing or equivalent
* Medical Secretary Diploma or equivalent knowledge or experience
* Supervisory / Management Qualification or equivalent experience or knowledge
Knowledge and abilities
* Minute taking
* Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative
* Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing priorities, re-organising own and team's workload to meet deadlines
