Why this job matters The Cloud Engineering Specialist independently implements core infrastructure and security services in Amazon Web Services to deliver highly available and scalable services, automating time intensive processes whilst meeting security and compliance objectives in all aspects of the secure cloud ecosystem. This job role is based in London. Onsite (5 days office based). Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week. You will need to be eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance before starting this role. You will need to have lived in the UK for 10+ years to be eligible.
Responsibilities
* Be hands on in the build and development of world class secure cloud-based solutions as part of an agile delivery team.
* Lead the design of cloud solutions.
* Work directly with our customers to understand their requirements.
* Work with support teams to enable management and monitoring of cloud-based systems and their ongoing support.
* Provide some third line support to deployed cloud-based solutions.
* Line manage several more junior members of the team, assisting them in their professional development.

* Experience with AWS cloud services (compute and managed services).
* Experience in developing for cloud with iterative full-stack development (e.g., Node.js or Python).
* Experience delivering Kubernetes or AWS EKS solutions.
* Experience managing infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).
* Experience mentoring or managing junior colleagues.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins).
* Experience automating routine management and maintenance activities in complex systems (e.g., new cloud account creation, bulk user management, environment housekeeping, monitoring and compliance).
* Familiarity with microservice and container-based deployment strategies and a zero-trust model.
* Experience migrating on-prem solutions to AWS.
* Experience with other cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP.
