The role
As a Senior Human Factors Consultant, you help shape the safety and performance of some of the UK’s most critical nuclear projects. From supporting high-profile programmes to influencing design decisions that protect lives and communities, your work will have a lasting impact.
Day-to-day, you’ll
1. Lead the preparation and delivery of Human Factors activities across nuclear projects, including budgeting and scheduling.
2. Provide expert Human Factors input to design projects, ensuring nuclear safety requirements are met.
3. Manage delivery of work within agreed scope, cost and timelines, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
4. Act as the key point of contact for stakeholders, facilitating communication across engineering, safety, and operations teams.
5. Build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities to grow the business.
This is a permanent role, working 37 hours per week. You will be based at one of our key UK locations: Bristol, Warrington (Cheshire), Reading (Berkshire) or Leicester (Leicestershire), with hybrid working patterns available (two days on site).
Essential experience of the Senior Human Factors Consultant:
6. Applying Human Factors expertise within high-hazard industries.
7. Leading or mentoring teams and managing project delivery.
8. Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
9. Developing and maintaining client relationships.
10. Demonstrating a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications for the Senior Human Factors Consultant:
11. Bachelor of Science Honours Degree (minimum) in Ergonomics, Human Factors or a related discipline such as Applied Psychology.
12. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (Graduate, Associate or Technical).
13. Ideally, you will have completed or be close to completing Registered Member or Chartered Status with the CIEHF.
